The Bowman Family Papers, 1835-1892, collection contains loose papers written by or belonging to members of the Bowman family of Orangeburg County, South Carolina. Loose papers consist of bills of sale for enslaved women and their children, a mortgage for enslaved persons and a document titled the “names and ages of the enslaved persons Reddick A. Bowman freed,” June 21, 1865.
