Become a Part of the South Carolina Digital Library and the Digital Public Library of America!

If you are a library, archive, museum, or cultural heritage institution and would like to have your unique collections made available online, searchable with other collections from across the state for all the world to see, please feel free to reach out to one of our SCDL Regional Coordinators for more information about becoming a South Carolina Digital Library member institution!

There is no cost to becoming a member institution and membership comes with benefits! The South Carolina Digital Library has implemented three Regional Scanning Centers — Clemson University Libraries in the Upstate, University of South Carolina Libraries in the Midlands, and College of Charleston Libraries in the Coastal region — to assist institutions like yours that want to make their special collections more available online and be a part of a growing digital collection. Assistance at the regional centers includes project planning, scanning, metadata creation, loading to the database, and anything in between! All the documents that you will need to contribute are available on this site.

If you have an idea for a digital collection but aren’t sure if it’s right for SCDL, please review our Collection Policy  and reach out to your SCDL Regional Coordinator for more information. Do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you might have!

Again, do not hesitate to contact us! You can be a part of our growing database and the Digital Public Library of America. Have your collections searched and browsed in new and interesting ways. Hope to hear from you soon!
