About
This collection was created in May 2020 as a product of a service-learning class taught in the Honors College at the University of South Carolina to document the perspectives and experiences of those impacted in a variety of ways by the COVID-19 pandemic, using oral history skills to tell the stories.
The collection includes ten oral history interviews including both the digital audio file and transcript for each interview, and photographs of each interviewee. All interviews were conducted using remote technology including Zoom, Webex, and smart phone with people living in South Carolina, Missouri, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and New Jersey were interviewed.
The interviews provide diverse perspectives on education, dentistry, accounting, study abroad programs, ministry, mechanical engineering, community service, medicine, and share stories of social isolation, resilience, workplace adjustments, online learning, family time, emergency medical services, face shield production, and community outreach.
